Langford Montage / Legal
Cookie Policy
1. Purpose and scope
This Cookie Policy explains cookies and similar technologies associated with the Langford Montage website. It supplements the Privacy Policy and distinguishes the custom creative website sections from the Shopify platform and any independently configured apps or services.
Langford Montage prepares advertising messages, story sequences, creative variants and organized campaign assets. The custom website sections are informational and include a local project inquiry confirmation. They do not operate a media-buying platform, affiliate network or payment processing service.
The actual cookies present on a live storefront depend on platform features, privacy settings, installed apps, visitor choices and browser behavior. This policy describes the relevant purposes and controls without inventing exact cookie names, expiry periods or optional tools that have not been verified on the live store.
2. What cookies and similar technologies do
A cookie is a small text record a website or service may ask your browser to store. When the browser returns to a relevant address, it may send that record back to the service. Cookies can support basic operation, remember a preference or, where enabled and permitted, measure website usage.
Similar technologies include local or session storage, embedded tracking requests and identifiers used by a platform or app. They can have different technical lifetimes and purposes. The label “cookie” is sometimes used broadly to include these technologies, but a privacy assessment should consider what a technology actually does.
A session cookie generally expires when the browser session ends. A persistent cookie lasts until its configured expiry or earlier deletion. A first-party cookie is associated with the visited site or its platform; a third-party technology may be associated with another provider. These labels do not, by themselves, determine whether consent is needed.
3. Necessary platform operation
Shopify and website infrastructure may use necessary cookies or other technical mechanisms for security, reliable page delivery, consent records, session management and other essential platform functions. A necessary function should be limited to its legitimate operational purpose and not used as a blanket description for optional advertising.
Necessary technical processing can include detecting misuse, applying privacy preferences, balancing infrastructure traffic or maintaining a requested session. The custom sections do not require a visitor account and do not initiate a paid checkout. Other Shopify pages or features may have different operational requirements.
Necessary functions may remain active when optional categories are declined where permitted by applicable law. Blocking all cookies at the browser level can interfere with some platform features, but should not prevent you from reading the creative service information solely because you declined optional marketing.
4. Preferences and functionality
Functional technologies can remember choices such as language, region or other settings if those platform features are enabled. A privacy consent record may also remember whether optional categories were accepted or declined, so that the preference is respected on later page loads.
The local navigation menu, service selector, review rotation and appearance animations in these custom sections run in the current page. The custom code does not save a persistent visitor identifier to provide those display features. Leaving or reloading the page may reset its temporary display state.
A browser may independently offer autofill for a name, email address or phone number. That behavior is governed by the browser and user settings rather than a custom inquiry cookie. Clearing browser autofill records is different from deleting cookies from the storefront.
5. Analytics and measurement
Analytics technologies, if enabled in the platform or an installed service, can help understand visits, page usage, errors or storefront performance. Technical data may include device type, approximate location, page interactions and identifiers. The precise collection depends on the service and its configuration.
The custom creative sections do not load a separate third-party analytics library and do not send review clicks or inquiry details to an analytics endpoint. This is a statement about the supplied custom code, not a claim that Shopify has no operational reporting or that every possible store app is inactive.
Where optional analytics require consent, the applicable service should honor the configured consent choice before running. If an analytics feature is added or materially changed, its purpose, provider and relevant controls should be assessed and this policy updated as necessary.
6. Advertising and enhanced Shopify features
Advertising technologies may connect activity across services, measure campaigns or support personalized advertising. Our custom service sections do not install advertising pixels or run cross-site visitor profiling. Preparing a message map for a client does not require us to track the client’s website visitors through this site.
If Shopify Network Intelligence or a related enhanced service is enabled, Shopify may use data from the storefront together with data from other merchants for permitted platform features, which can include advertising-related purposes. Whether an activity is a sale, sharing or targeted advertising under a privacy law depends on the activity and applicable law, not solely on whether money changes hands.
Where applicable, consent and opt-out choices must be managed through the store’s Shopify privacy configuration or a compatible consent tool. Rejecting nonessential categories or exercising a recognized opt-out should be passed to the services that depend on those choices. We do not claim that the local inquiry checkbox governs platform advertising cookies.
7. Images, fonts and embedded resources
The creative photographs, logo and font files used in these sections are served as storefront files. The custom design does not embed a map, social media feed, external video player or remote font API. Loading an image or font still involves a technical request to the hosting infrastructure, which can produce normal delivery and security records.
If a future page embeds an external player, social feed, scheduler or other service, that provider may receive technical information and use its own cookies or similar technologies. Such an addition should be evaluated before launch and, where required, blocked until the visitor has made the appropriate choice.
Third-party provider processing is subject to that provider’s relevant privacy information as well as the store’s obligations for the integration. A decorative image is not evidence of an embedded advertising system, and we do not attach marketing trackers merely to display campaign-related photography.
8. The local project inquiry form
The current custom inquiry interface validates required fields and displays a confirmation in the page. It does not transmit entered project details to a server, send them to our mailbox, create a transaction or store them in browser cookies or local storage. The form resets after successful local validation.
Information may remain temporarily in the browser’s page memory while you are completing the form. Browser autofill, extensions or a browser’s own restoration features can behave separately. If you share a device, review browser privacy and autofill settings before entering contact details.
If a connected inquiry form is introduced later, any new storage or transmission must be explained in the Privacy Policy, and relevant consent and security arrangements must be assessed. A local success message should not be treated as a contract acceptance or proof of payment.
9. Making and changing choices
When the Shopify cookie banner or a compatible preference interface is available, it should show the relevant optional categories and allow you to accept, decline or adjust those categories as required. You may revisit that interface to change your decision. Some regions or configurations may display different controls according to applicable requirements.
The cookie preference button below attempts to open the store’s existing Shopify preference interface. It does not create a separate consent database and does not falsely report that a preference was saved. If the interface has not been configured or is unavailable, the page will tell you and explain that browser controls remain available.
Changing a preference applies to future processing by services that honor the updated choice. It may not erase data already lawfully collected or delete every cookie immediately. You may also delete existing cookies through your browser. If a feature continues to place optional cookies after rejection, contact us with the page and cookie details so the issue can be investigated.
10. Browser settings and opt-out signals
Most browsers let you inspect cookies, remove records for a site, block third-party cookies or restrict all cookie storage. The location of these settings varies by browser and version. A private browsing window may reduce persistent storage after the window is closed, but it does not make a visit invisible to hosting infrastructure.
Deleting cookies can remove saved consent preferences and cause a banner to appear again. Blocking a necessary consent record can make it harder for a platform to remember your choice. A preference chosen in one browser or device may not automatically carry over to another unless the relevant platform provides that functionality.
Where applicable law requires it, a recognized universal opt-out signal such as Global Privacy Control should be honored for covered sale, sharing or targeted-advertising activity. A “Do Not Track” header and Global Privacy Control are not the same technical mechanism. Our custom sections do not implement cross-site tracking, and platform handling is governed by the active privacy configuration.
11. Cookie duration and inventory requests
The duration of a cookie depends on its provider, function and configuration. Some last only for a session; others may last for a stated period unless removed earlier. We do not promise that every necessary cookie has the same duration or that declining optional categories deletes a legally permitted operational record.
For information about a specific cookie, you can inspect its name, domain and expiry in your browser and contact us with those details. Avoid sending a cookie’s full value when it could contain a session token or another sensitive identifier. A cookie name alone may not identify every purpose, so an investigation may also require the page and enabled service.
An inventory should be checked again when new apps, analytics, enhanced platform services or embedded content are enabled. A generic policy page is not a substitute for configuring the live storefront’s controls or checking whether a provider respects visitor choices.
12. Policy changes and questions
We may revise this policy when the website, integrations, platform behavior or applicable requirements change. The effective and last-updated dates at the top indicate the current version. If a change introduces an activity requiring consent, that consent should be sought through the appropriate control before the activity begins.
Please contact us with questions about cookies, privacy preferences or an unexpected tracking request. Include the page address, browser type and a description of what you observed, while avoiding passwords, session tokens and payment information. Requests involving information held independently by Shopify may also need to be addressed through Shopify’s privacy process.
